HALWorld vs Ordinary Web ChatGPT
The 20-second version
HALWorld lets AI work with your real computer, your website, the Internet, other HALs and other AI systems — while keeping the actual history of the work.
You should not have to learn a special prompting style to use it. Talk about the work the way you would with someone who already knows the project.
And importantly:
you can change the AI being used without losing your project.
HALWorld does not replace ChatGPT. It gives AI a wider working environment and keeps the project separate from whichever AI model happens to be doing the thinking.
For example, instead of rebuilding a large prompt every time, you should be able to say:
“Update the Valentine’s page with the new rose prices and check that it looks right.”
HAL can use the history, files, previous decisions and tools already available to work out what that means — and ask when something genuinely needs clarification.

A particularly important difference
What you can see when you scroll through a ChatGPT conversation is not necessarily the same information another or later ChatGPT conversation has available when it answers you.
Your original conversations can remain in ChatGPT and can be searched.

But OpenAI describes ChatGPT Memory as a continually updated synthesis of context from previous chats. It keeps information that it determines is important; it does not promise that every detail from the original conversation will be carried forward as working context.
In ordinary English:
the AI may be working from a reduced version of what actually happened.
Usually that is perfectly useful.
But if an important detail has been left out, the AI may now be working from an incomplete picture. That can lead to confusion, contradictions and confident reconstruction of details that were never actually available to it.
HALWorld takes a different approach:
preserve what actually happened first; decide what is useful from that record second.
A HAL can use a short summary when that is enough.
When the exact history matters, it can go back to the Chronicle.
Change the intelligence, keep the project
People accumulate months or years of conversations, decisions and working information inside one AI service.
That makes changing AI surprisingly difficult.
Even if another model becomes better for a particular job, much of the value is tied up in everything the first system already knows about the project.
HALWorld separates those things.
The AI provides intelligence.
HALWorld preserves the working world around it.
So one job might use ChatGPT.
Another might use a coding model such as Cursor.
Another might use a local model.
Tomorrow, a better model might appear.
